Smart Reporting is eager to participate in the Imaging Artificial Intelligence in Practice (IAIP) demonstration at the 109th Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA 2023), slated for November 26th to 29th, 2023. The event, held at McCormick Place in Chicago, is globally recognised as the premier annual imaging conference. The IAIP demonstration is a joint venture aimed at illustrating the smooth integration of AI into diagnostic radiology workflows. This interactive showcase will provide a detailed insight into AI’s potential, assist attendees in formulating the right questions, and equip them with the skills to integrate and scale AI in their radiology practices effectively. The IAIP demonstration, featuring teams in the AI Showcase, is located at South Hall A, Level 3, Booth 4358, with demonstrations scheduled every 30 minutes during the RSNA 2023. There’s also a media tour for journalists on Tuesday, November 28, from 10:00 to 11:00 am.

At the IAIP demonstration, real-world clinical scenarios, encompassing emergency and long-term care, will be displayed. 20 vendors will present 28 state-of-the-art products, giving RSNA 2023 attendees a walkthrough of the various stages of the radiology workflow, showcasing AI tools, health IT standards, and reporting solutions.

The demonstration will focus on critical points in the radiology workflow where AI can be employed to support radiologists, increase efficiency, and improve the quality of care. These stages include radiologist scheduling, imaging examination ordering, acquisition protocoling, image interpretation with AI clinical decision support, synoptic reporting, and electronic health record integration.

Philipp Matthies, Head of Research & Innovation at Smart Reporting, remarks, “As a leader in HealthTech, we are excited to join the IAIP demonstration at RSNA 2023. This collaborative effort underscores our commitment to advancing the field of radiology through the integration of cutting-edge AI solutions. We believe that by leveraging AI technology within the radiology workflow, we can empower healthcare professionals to provide faster input, achieve better output, and ultimately deliver smarter care to patients.”

Smart Reporting’s software, SmartReports, is integral to a live demonstration that will cover the entire radiology workflow, including Worklist, PACS, AI Orchestrator solutions, Fovia’s AI findings viewer, and AI offerings from Siemens Healthineers and Qure AI. Following AI findings review, coded findings relevant for reporting will be sent to SmartReports using HL7 FHIR. In SmartReports, synoptic reports will be pre-filled, tailored, finalised, and disseminated for use in organisational and clinical analytics.

IAIP is a collaborative project involving industry partners, radiologists, and imaging informaticists, relying on established standards like DICOM, HL7 FHIR, the IHE framework, CDE reporting, among others.

Everyone is invited to meet the Smart Reporting team at RSNA 2023 (South Hall Level 3, Booth 4953) to learn about SmartReports and see the advancements in radiology.
