Podemos wants the Balearic Education Law to promote the teaching of Democratic Memory in the classrooms.

United We Can (UP) will present amendments to the future Balearic Education Law to promote the teaching of Democratic Memory in classrooms and Human Rights, “as common values to achieve a plural society.”

In a press release, the first vice-president of the Parliament and deputy of UP, Gloria Santiago, assured this Friday that “linking the Democratic Memory with the defense of Human Rights will prevent the painful past of Spain from being repeated.”

In this sense, it has remarked that to “continue developing the autonomic law of memory and democratic recognition, it is necessary to learn in school.”

With these amendments, the formation includes the request of the Technical Committees of Memory and Graves of the Government. They asked parliamentary groups on Thursday to include it in the Democratic Memory law and its link to human rights.
